14th July – Job Done. Nets in use. Official opening on Wednesday 27th July with KCC and ECB CA, with a coaching masterclass by Paul Farbrace.
Many thanks to the Ibstock Cory Environmental Trust and Kent County Council Capital Grants Scheme for your help.
Here’s a photo archive of the day by day progress (click on an image to enlarge, and scroll through the large photos).
17th June – not quite out!
We have spectacular progress, but the rain has delayed completion and the project will go a few days into week commencing 20th June. Here’s where we are and apologies to anyone who is inconvenienced.
20th May – Rain Stops Start
Dura–Sport are delayed on an existing project by rain; our construction is now scheduled to start on Wednesday 25th May. The construction schedule will now slip by two days.
18th May 2016
Site meeting this morning with Dura–Sport to conduct a risk assessment and to ask them to be mindful of our neighbours, the narrow road and the doctor’s surgery.
We have now placed an order with Dura-Sport for a 3 lane DSI-pro non-turf net system for the north east corner of the field. They will also refurbish the existing net for use with a bowling machine.
Our thanks go to The Ibstock Cory Environmental Trust and to Kent County Council Capital Grants scheme for their financial support.
Work should start in May (yes this month) and be completed in June. Watch this space!
We are delighted that we have been granted planning permission for a 4 lane non-turf net system and synthetic practice area along the east boundary of our Otford facility. We thank Offset Architects for their help in leading us through the process, in particular Claire Iqbal.
This ground improvement will bring our practice facilities for juniors and seniors up to a level commensurate with a Kent Premier League side and will be best in class for our area.
This page will give news on progress, but next steps are to decide exactly which system we would like to buy and at the same time we are setting about raising funds to enable us to proceed.
We will be delighted to hear from members and friends who would like to help us in any way.
