Steve, as he was known, joined SVCC offering to become chief scorer and became its Cricketologist.
He put The Sevenoaks Vine Club at the centre of his life, scoring for the 1st XI he also qualified as an umpire and stood for the Cricket Club for many seasons. He also umpired hockey for Sevenoaks Hockey Club.
Steve played as a demon slow bowler for Old Oaks for a number of years and along with several other SVCC members he enjoyed playing for Knockers CC.
Since his untimely death in 2006, Steve is remembered on a plaque on the pavilion where a bequest helped to fund the electronic scoreboard and by an annual match between Old Oaks and Knockers for the Trounce Trophy, followed by a few of Steve’s favourite beers.
