A Message From the Junior Chairman

Hello and welcome to Sevenoaks Vine Cricket Club.

The Vine is a great place to play cricket and make new friends. We have an active Junior section from Minis (U7s and U9s), plus two teams for each of the Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 age groups. These teams compete in the Invicta Junior League which involves league
matches against other Clubs from the area
in Kent.

Importantly we have a burgeoning girl’s section, run by Will Lowdnes, which is a major focus of growth for the Club. We are delighted to have Susie Rowe getting involved in coaching the girls in 2021.

The Junior section is an integral part of the Club and many of the older Juniors also play in Senior teams, when able, on Saturday afternoons. We field three adult sides in League matches (including the Kent Premier League) as well as a Development Team during summer holidays and the Old Oaks who play friendlies on The Vine each Friday evening during summer, perfect for parents of the Junior section to get involved!

Last year was challenging for everyone and The Vine was not any different. At all stages we prioritise the safety of the players and have strict procedures to ensure adherence to Government and ECB guidelines for training and playing cricket.

Naturally, what the near future holds remains uncertain, we would normally be holding winter nets at the Sennocke Centre, however that is looking in doubt. We would hope to commence outdoor nets in April if the virus is under control, likely under similar guidelines to 2020.

The Vine welcomes new members and caters for all abilities, for the Club the priority is that the children, and their parents, have a fun and fulfilling cricket experience both on and off the field.

Please feel free to contact me, Will or any of the age group managers for further details.
