Sevenoaks 1st XI lose at home v Beckenham
7 Aug 2017 - Tom Parsons
Sevenoaks Vine had a day to forget on Saturday after losing by 9 wickets to high-flyers Beckenham. Losing the toss, the Vine were put into bat and a great spell from the Beckenham bowled pout the Vine in all sorts of trouble losing wickets at regular intervals. The only form of resistance was from Olly Howick who hit 22 in a total of 84 for the home side.
After a brief rain break, the visitors required 60 runs to win from DL and with Kent superstar Alex Blake on their side the target was reached very quickly by 9 wickets. The only wicket to fall was taken by Tom Parsons who became the all-time top wicket taker in Kent Premier League history (241).
Sevenoaks travel to Bexley this Saturday needing a win to give themselves any chance of survival this season.
