Invicta Six-a-side Festival- Vine have a great day

Invicta Six-a-side Festival
The Vine entered three sides in to the Invicta U13s tournament today. We mixed the sides between Prem and Championship players to make them as even as possible. This seemed to have worked as each team finished second in their group after mostly narrow losses to full-strength single team Clubs in Gravesend, Castle Hill and Tunbridge Wells.
The Vine Kohli side (under Will Lowndes and Jack Overton-Fox) qualified for the Cup as the strongest runner up in the group stage. They took on Gravesend and lost narrowly by only 4 runs. An excellent achievement from the boys.
The Vine Root (under Will House and Fred Smith) and Vine Smith (under myself and Henry Lewis) sides played semi-finals against Cowdrey and Town Malling respectively, in the Shield competition. Each side ending up comfortable winners, thus setting up an all Vine Final.
In a closely fought battle, Vine Root ran out winners by 2 runs, 67 off 7 overs (we played 8-a-side in the Final) vs. 65, with Vine Smith needing 5 to win off the last ball. Victorious side attached, receiving their medals.
Henry Lewis and Alex Cliff in the top 4 run scorers for the festival
Will Hobbs among the top four wicket takers
Evan Zell-Smith won Champagne Moment for an amazing caught and bowled in the Shield Final! (I have your trophy Evan).
Highlight for mine was the club spirit among the boys who sometimes don’t get to play with each other during the League season. Congrats to all, thanks to the two Wills for their support.
