Kent Premier League Champions

So here is is, the tale of how the final day of the 2014 season unfolded. If Blackheath had not lost to Beckenham last week then this would have been a 1st Vs 2nd placed shoot out for the title. Now Blackheath lay 4th and out of range. Meanwhile a 3rd placed Hartley played a 4th placed Lordswood away and if The Vine slipped up then the winner of that game would be champions.
So all the Vine had to do was win, and the title would be ours for the first time since 1997, one player surviving from that side was John Bowden (VP). The crowd grew as the sun came out and became captivated by the thrilling climax to the game; a big thank you to everyone from the town who came to support us.
The Vine won the toss and elected to bat. Here’s what happened during the day in pictures. If anyone has any photos to share for posterity please send them to me and I’ll include them.
